I acknowledge that there is a $400 tax-deductible charitable adoption donation for dogs over 6 months, and a $500 donation for puppies under 6 months. I understand that this is a donation to cover the costs associated with rescue, including medical care, microchip, spay/neutering and boarding, and not a purchase price for a dog.

Please note, there is an additional $150 training deposit for puppies and dogs with special behavioral needs. This deposit will be paid directly to a trainer of your choice and must be used within three months of the adoption.

I understand that A Purposeful Rescue does not adopt on a first-come-first-serve basis. Their priority is the well-being of their dogs and they will be adopted based on the needs of that particular dog.

I understand that this application does not guarantee adoption. A Purposeful Rescue reserves the right to refuse adoption to any applicant for any reason. This application becomes part of our contract:

Per the A Purposeful Rescue (APR) adoption contract, adopters are required to notify APR immediately if any behavioral concerns arise and are required to work with a trainer at the adopter's expense before a dog can be returned to the rescue. Should this situation arise, the adopter is required to provide a minimum of 2 weeks notice before returning the dog or you will be held responsible for any costs incurred by APR for boarding and required vaccinations. Please note, there are exceptions for emergencies.
